Making Connections grants for 2022-2023 announced

We are delighted to announce five new Making Connections Grants for 2022-2023.

Making Connections is Weizmann UK's flagship programme bringing scientists from the UK and Israel together to facilitate collaborative research projects. Grants of $100,000 are awarded for joint research projects over two years.

This is the 14th year of the programme and thanks to the generosity of Weizmann UK's supporters, there have now been a total of 76 grants awarded since the Making Connections programme began in 2008, bringing Weizmann scientists from a variety of fields into close working contact with scientists from around 30 UK universities and research institutes.

The Making Connections Grants from 2022-2023 have been awarded to:

Connecting LATS1-regulated epigenetic plasticity with cell metabolism

Prof. Moshe Oren (Weizmann Institute of Science) & Prof. Karen Vousden (The Francis Crick Institute)

Cross-Modal Generalisation of Fear

Prof. Rony Paz (Weizmann Institute of Science) & Dr. Deborah Talmi (University of Cambridge)

Metabolite mapping using magnetic resonance at ultra-high field for the non-invasive detection of genetic mutations in human brain tumours in vivo

Dr. Rita Schmidt (Weizmann Institute of Science) & Prof. David Porter (University of Glasgow)

Understanding the Surface Chemistry of Late 3d-Transition Metal Oxides during Oxygen Evolution Reaction

Dr. Eren Baran (Weizmann Institute of Science) & Dr. Alex Walton (University of Manchester)

Advanced X-ray absorption diagnostics and modelling for exploring characteristics of Warm Dense Matter 

Prof. Ehud Duchovni (Weizmann Institute of Science) & Dr. Simon Bland (Imperial College London)
