Can you build an uncrackable safe?

Applications are now open to take part in our 2017 Physics Tournament. Initial design concepts must be submitted by Friday 14 October 2016.

The Challenge

Teams of 'Year 12' students must design a safe with two locking mechanisms based on physics principles. Each team has to be able to open their own safe in under 5 minutes but need to keep their opponents challenged for at least 10 minutes. 

UK Competition 

Show off your physics skills and knowledge and test your safe making and cracking abilities against other teams in the UK tournament to win.

The Prize

The winning three teams will win travel grants for flights and accommodation to allow you to compete in the International Tournament at the Weizmann Institute of Science in Israel, 26-30 March 2017.
