Making Connections Reception
On Wednesday 24 June, we were delighted to host our Making Connections Reception in Central London, an evening celebrating nearly two decades of pioneering scientific collaboration between the Weizmann Institute of Science and UK institutions.
The event also marked the launch of our Making Connections Impact Report, which reflects the programme's many significant achievements and sets out its plans for the future.
We were privileged to hear from an exceptional line-up of speakers. Weizmann Institute President Prof. Alon Chen spoke about the vital importance of international collaboration for the Institute, particularly at the present time. Presentations from Dr. Claire Fletcher (Imperial College London) and Prof. Yonatan Stelzer (Weizmann Institute) vividly illustrated the programme’s lasting impact. Drawing on their collaborative research with Prof. Igor Ulitsky (Weizmann Institute) and Prof. Anne Ferguson-Smith (University of Cambridge), they highlighted how Making Connections leads not only to outstanding scientific discoveries, but also to enduring collaborations, further research funding, and transformative opportunities for early-career scientists.
Looking ahead, we are excited about the next chapter of Making Connections, with an enhanced programme and a new call for applications launching this October.
The Making Connections Impact Report, supported by the Bluston Charitable Trust, is now available online. We hope you enjoy reading it and sharing it with colleagues and friends who may be interested.
