About Us
The Weizmann Institute of Science is a global leader in scientific research, education, and innovation, advancing discoveries that shape the future of humanity. Weizmann UK supports this mission by raising funds, fostering collaboration with UK scientists, and nurturing the next generation of scientists.
The Weizmann Institute & Weizmann UK
The Weizmann Institute was founded by Dr. Chaim Weizmann in 1934 as the Daniel Sieff Research Institute. In 1949, it was renamed in honour of Chaim Weizmann’s considerable achievements both as founder of the Institute and as first President of the State of Israel. Today, the Weizmann Institute is a global scientific powerhouse, consistently ranked among the top 10 research institutions worldwide in the prestigious Leiden Ranking.
At Weizmann UK, our role is to support the Weizmann Institute in its mission of science for the future of humanity. We do this in three ways: raising funds, facilitating scientific collaboration between the Institute and the UK and nurturing the next generation of scientists.
