WEIZMANN UK Physics Tournament

Shalheveth Freier Physics Tournament

Build a safe, crack a safe, win a prize!

In 2013, WEIZMANN UK held our first UK competition to send eligible teams to the Institute for its prestigious International Tournament.

The WEIZMANN UK annual “safe-breaking” physics tournament is an opportunity for teams of Year 12 physicists from schools across the UK to create their own safe which has locking mechanisms based on the principles of physics. The teams then compete in a tournament where they crack into each others safes and those with the combined high scores win!

Teams who win the UK tournament receive a travel grant to enable them to travel to and spend 4 days exploring the Weizmann campus and taking part in the Shalheveth Freier International Tournament.
