Supporting the Weizmann Institute of Science, Israel

The Dr Bessie Lawrence International Summer Science Institute (ISSI) is a prestigious four-week summer programme.
Up to 90 international students work together to on research projects that explore their interests. They are mentored by some of the world's leading scientists and use the Institute's incredible facilities. Students spend a week in a field school to also experience the diverse ecosystems, wildlife and archaeology of the region. The itinerary includes visits to Jerusalem and the North of Israel.
This is a unique opportunity to be part of a scientific community and actively take part in research. Recent student projects included: ‘Modelling and Data Analysis of Audience Applause’ (Physics Dept.), ‘Mybolast Fusion in Drosphila’ (Biology Dept.), and ‘Ring-Walking Phenomena in Stabilbazole Complexes’ (Chemistry Dept.).
Thanks to the support of our UK philanthropists, Weizmann UK will award full scholarship to those accepted on the programme (although we ask those who are able to make a contribution of £350 towards travel and insurance). Application is open to schools throughout the UK.
Please note that the programme is only open to students in Year 13.
